Maori sculpture (like a totem pole), Victoria Square, Christchurch. This tells the story of the separation of Mother Earth and Father Sky. I forget their Maori names, but Mother Earth is lying on her side at the bottom, and you can see Mount Cook just above her. One of her children is upside down above the mountain. Father sky is on the right side, facing forward, but he's not really visible.

One of the trams that circle a portion of Christchurch all day. We didn't actually ride this one.

One of the trams we actually did ride around Christchurch. Unfortunately the other tram we rode, which I thought was a beautiful tram, all hand worked wood on the inside, was not running by the time I took pictures.
