Highlights of my second visit to London in as many months. This time, the
weather was nice at the beginning and the end, but not in the middle - so
the photos are from the first day - when I went to the London Zoo - and
the last day, when I went to the Museum of Natural History. In between was
classes, lots of walking and some shopping.

I arrived Monday to find a beautiful sunny afternoon, so I walked over to Regents
Park, where this photo was taken, on my way to the London Zoo |
I forget what this was called; something with an M, I think also called Giant
Rabbit. |
I do enjoy watching the meercats. |

The zoo has a new area, where you go right into where these
spider monkeys are. I watched them for a while, and took many
photos, but they're so fast many were blurred. |

Unfortunately, all the really interesting animals were behind
heavy mesh.

After getting out of class early, I went off to visit this,
the Museum of Natural History. Cool building, obviously purpose-built,
as there's animals everywhere in the architecture. |

Of course, had to go visit the dinosaur exhibit. There was
a long line on the catwalk on the way to the T-Rex exhibit |

This is supposed to be a 'teenage' t-rex, "super sensing",
whatever that means. I think there were too many people there
for anyone to be aware it was actually supposed to behave in
more than a random manner. |

If you look carefully at the nostrils in the larger image,
you'll see sensors. |

I thought this was rather cute - this was a little display, like you'd see
puppies in at a pet store. If you watched, this little guy was breathing,
and would move and almost wake up. |
The center display is a blue whale - very big - above it are skeletons
of various whales; to the left are skeletons of various prehistoric
elephant relatives.

Picadilly Circus. I took the tube from the museum to here, then walked
from the Circus to my hotel near Kings' Cross. Not a bad walk, especially
on such a nice evening. |
|
A statue I quite liked in the Picadilly Circus area. |
