The London "Eye". When we were here last, leaving England,
this was planned and was to be called the Millenium Wheel.
The building to the immediate right is the old County Hall,
which is the hotel we stayed in last. The river, of course,
is the Thames.

London, Big Ben. Looks to be recently re-guilded. Parliment
is to the left.

Buckingham Palace. Looked like there was some sort of military
academy graduation, as there were many young men in uniform
behind the gates.

Harrogate, North Yorkshire, near Montpelier Quarter and
Betty's Tea House. Fairly typical of Britian, flowers abound
everywhere one looks.

Betty's Cafe and Tea Rooms. Betty's is quite famous, probably
at least partially as "James Herriott" used to come to "Broughton"
on his Saturday half-day to have tea here.

Harrogate High Street, I think. The main shopping plaza,
pedestrianized. This is only one of the nearby streets that
offer shopping. This picture was taken early in the morning;
later in the day this street is often quite busy, not only
with shoppers but street musicians and various others.

The gatehouse at Skipton Castle. Not even the actual castle!
This castle has been attacked numerous times, but never
taken. No suprise, after one sees the gatehouse, and walks
behind the castle...

Skipton Castle from the back. No wonder the place has never
been taken! The small hole in the corner, and under the
overhang is the "drain" from the garderobe.

Bolton Abbey. Behind the wall visible behind the great window
is the priory, which has seen continuous worship for, if
I remember correctly, over 800 years. The abbey used to
cover a much greater area than you can currently see.

Off to the right you see the road we came up on. This is
a typical back road in the Yorkshire Dales - twisty and
narrow, and often bordered right at the road edge by rock
walls. The views are beautiful, but the driving is a bit
nervous in larger vehicles.

Another view from the same location as the panorama - gives
a better idea of the narrowness of Yorkshire back roads,
as compared to the width of my truck.

Another common Yorkshire road hazard - the narrow bridge.
I suspect the towers are much older than the bridge walls...

Meep quickly settled into her new home, and is very happy
that she can go outside again.
