Budgie Smugglers!
Ha! I love Aussie slang! Learned a new one today... "budgie smugglers". First, for those who don't know, a budgie is a parakeet. Budgie Smugglers are men's Speedos, 'because the bulge in front looks like a budgie was stuffed in there'. LOL!
Aussie Slang Dictionary: I love the very first one!
"Easy As!" seems to be a common one these days.
I also like "Spit the Dummy" (a dummy is a pacifier). If someone spits the dummy, they had a tantrum, threw a fit.
Neither of these last two are actually in the dictionary I linked too, but they're common around here.
I've heard this for Britain <> America as well:
"Two Countries Divided by a Common Language"
Oh, and while we're talking about Aussieisms, here's an interesting flower called "poached egg daisys". Easy to see how they got the name!
Not particularly happy today, gotta cold or trying to get the flu. Sore throat and all. Ick. Went to work this morning, but caught an early bus home, then hung out here drinking hot tea with lots of honey, watching agro TV (it's an agricultural country, so daytime TV seems to have lots of stuff for farmers), and trying to make ringtones for my phone. It got really hot today for this time of year, around 27c (80f).
