geckos

Geckos! For those of you in Australia (and other places) they're a common, and hopefully welcome, sight. For us Americans, I always love seeing them. This'un was hanging out on our kitchen window; he's about 4 or 5" long. I dunno if it'll show in the posted image, but with what I got with my new camera, I can clearly see his tiny belly scales, and the ridges on his sticky feet.

Today we went out to the Tropic of Capricorn, just to drive a bit out of town. Sun showed up for the first time in days, so I got some nicely dramatic skies. We stopped at 16 Mile Creek, which had closed the Stuart Highway a couple of days ago; it looked like any normal creek, except for the chocolate-milk looking water.

I also posted some pictures from Thursday, when the Todd finally flowed again.

My truck will tick over 50,000 miles this weekend too!
