Lake Amadeus. One of the dry salt lakebeds in the area. These can fill with water during heavy rains, but like the riverbeds are usually dry.

We stayed at Curtin Springs Station overnight.  That evening, we took a sunset camel ride.  That's John on Lazy Daisy. Randy is my camel's name.

The white line up that ridge is the walking trail to the top of the rock. The local aboriginal people request but do not demand that people not climb the rock; many people do anyway. The climb closed at 8am anyway, due to the high (39C) forecast temperatures. Incidentally, we had no plans to climb.

A common feature of the rock are areas of runoff, that feed waterholes in various places around it. These waterholes are very important to the huge amount of wildlife that lives on and around Uluru.
