I think this is Brinegar Cabin. There's an old weaving fram inside,
but you're not allowed in there- just look through the window. |

The fish were spawning. Each fish had his little bowl that he'd
built, and he guarded it jealously. I think this is a Sunny (sunfish) |

Probably the most famous mill eve, Mabry Mill. I've seen pictures
of this mill on postcards for most of the East Coast states, even
though it's in North Carolina. Freshly rebuilt, it doesn't look
right (it needs to be weathered and grey), which is why I include
the B&W image below. |

Morning - one of the Peaks of Otter at the Peaks of Otter visitor center.
We had a very nice early-morning walk along the shore of this lake. |

At Big Meadows, on Skyline Drive. We saw an incredible number of
whitetail deer in the well-named meadows. John nearly stepped on
this young buck, who was dozing in the deep grasses. |

The deer were rather too friendly, though this one was quite perturbed
about the dog - stomping and snorting - but the dog could care less. |

We saw quite a few fawns as well, including this one. |
